I found Zac Efron very good, I had no idea who he was until my wife told me though. The only weakness is that the writing never aspires for much, neither to entrench a rich tapestry of what that moment in history was like, nor really explore what it is to be an actor (with the exception of one pretty fine Welles speech).

I also gotta say I saw it at the Ryerson, and for both this and Religulous the sound quality was horrible... so horrible in fact that when Bill Maher returned for the Q&A he called the Ryerson theater out on it, and the audience agreed. I think it is beyond incompetent to ask so much of an audience and not be able to have a sound system suitable for the event. I am truly disliking the TIFF experience this year.

Odd that you did not mention Zac Efron at all, my biggest reservation! I'd still love to see this though, just to see if he can top Vincent D'Onofrio in Ed Wood!

Glad I skipped this one. Kinda saw it coming, but good to know I didn't miss too much!! Still I do love Richard Linklater, but he seems to be doing conventional flicks inbetween his experiments, I prefer his experiments.
