It is very distressing for me, as author and also subject of the book Fifty Dead Men Walking, to read reports that I am in someway connected or involved with the film of the same name.
This is completely untrue and I want to place on the record, once again, that I have had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the film. Further, the film is being described as a “true story”, it is NOT.

The Film is an entirely false and distorted account of what took place, more than that it is an insult to the victims of IRA terrorism in Northern Ireland and also their families.

The film which I have seen and the scripts which I have read are full of lies and are a gross manipulation and distortion of the truth, as told in my book (“Fifty Dead Men Walking”). Moreover, the film, which I viewed in May 2008, contained many scenes and dialogue which never took place.

As my two published books made clear I was, before and during my infiltration of the IRA, an established agent of the security forces working to RUC handlers. In other words, I was never in the true sense a member of the IRA. To state otherwise is entirely false, hurtful and very damaging to me, my story and would also call in to question my credibility and that of my story.

I have not given the filmmakers, nor any other third parties, my consent to make changes to my work (The Book) nor have I ever entered into any kind of agreement with them which would allow them to use my name and or likeness in the film. I have also objected, many times, to the filmmakers, as the creator of the work regarding the distorted, mutilated, or modification of my work. However, they have simply ignored my objections. This is a clear breach of my legal rights, including my Moral rights, which I have never waived. Moreover, The filmmakers, and their Solicitor, asked me to sign a Moral Righs waiver in November 2007, after they had completed filming in Norther Ireland, but I refused to do so. I retain those Moral Rights including all others..

I, and also my Solicitors, have made it very clear to all parties involved that I am reserving all my legal rights and remedies in this matter.
