Soundtrack Of Your Life #17 – Save The Last Dance

Ain’t nobody listenin’ to you but me..

Each episode, Corey Pierce welcomes a guest (or guests) onto the show who has chosen a compilation or soundtrack that speaks to a memorable era of their life. The soundtrack will play underneath and serves as a springboard to discussion about the music itself, how it works within the film, and what was going on with their life at the time of its release.

For episode 16, Corey finally welcomes self-described gaylord farquad film blogger, the ever fabulously foul-mouthed and never boring Paolo Kagaoan to discuss the late 90s/early 00s R&B-laced soundtrack to Save The Last Dance, as well as stories of arriving to inner-city Toronto as a gay immigrant. Nikki also is back to mostly listen in as we reminisce over wine and Easter cake.

Row Three Favorite Albums of 2015

2014-albums

You know what’s great about music? Well of course you do: an infinite amount of tangible and intangible things. But in the internet’s “need to list everything” context, what I like is that there’s very little overlap. Because there is so much music released in any given year and it’s so incredibly diverse and there are so many different tastes, everyone’s list is unique and interesting and inspiring and full of frisson.

So it is with much pleasure that Row Three presents all of our favorite music from the year. If you’re looking for something new to whet your ear’s appetite for resonance, I can all but guarantee you’ll find something great in the list of artists below…

Enjoy!

What I Heard Last Month [music]

I still try my best to remain loyal to a number of bands and musicians that continue to put out new music.  I certainly don’t get as excited about what’s new, but for 2015, I would like to try my best to keep up and attempt to listen to at least four new records each month and avoid needing to binge at the end of the year. With that said, I would love for you to comment with what you’ve been listening to each month to celebrate the other art form we probably love almost as much as film!  Here are the four new albums I’ve heard this past month, besides my own of course (shameless plug) which you can download for free!

Row Three Favorite Albums of 2014 [music]

The big list of awesome movies from the third row’s 2014 experience is just around the corner – we’re just waiting for some last minute screenings to show up in the next week or so. In the meantime, we’ve had some time to sift through all the tunage from 2014 and along with other movie-blogging friends have put together this nice list of great sounds of 2014. There are 1000 movies released each year, but there are tens of thousands of albums. So by no means did any of us get to them all, but here’s a sampling of all our favorite listens over the last 365 days.

Enjoy!
