Middle of the Row Episode 7 – The Brood

The Brood

Here is Dave and John’s first podcast in the Cronenberg series. In this episode we delve into his 1979 horror movie The Brood.

Be warned that we are definitely going to be in spoiler territory for all these podcasts!

Have a listen to this much shorter podcast (25 minutes) and let us know what you think about both The Brood and also the podcast.

Middle of the Row Episode 6 – Caine and O’Toole

This Episode:
Dave and John each pick an actor they like and go over 5 (6 in the case of John since he can’t count) movies. John’s pick for an actor is Michael Caine and Dave’s pick is Peter O’Toole. Let us know if you enjoy the show and if you like the clips being included. Its a fair amount of extra work to add them in but if people are listening and enjoying them then we’ll see about having a clip for each movie. Thats only if we hear the people really enjoy them.

Middle of the Row Episode 5 – A Visit with the AFI

This Episode:
Dave and John think they are going to have a shorter podcast and it ends up being the longest yet. Fortunately though the technical difficulties have been all fixed so sit back and enjoy a recap of what they watched in the past two weeks and then they each look at ten movies from the American Film Institute‘s 100 Years 100 Movies list.

Please feel free to leave a comment and let us know if these are just too long. We are thinking of cutting our lists back to 5 movies each time. Also If you have any ideas for a show we would love to cover topics that you want to hear and not just ones that interest us.

Middle of the Row Episode 4 – Stuck in the 90s

We are trying a new program for recording the podcast and it worked a fair amount better but we are still ironing out the bugs. I will say that this one is definitely a lot easier on the ears than Episode 3. Unfortunately after having cleaned up the podcast my computer decided to corrupt the fixes I had made. What this means is there is about an extra minute or two so throughout the podcast where my sound cuts out. I don’t have the time right now to clean it up again as I have to listen through the entire show which is just over two hours in length. I hope everyone will bear with us as this is a learning process for both Dave and I.

this episode

Dave and John talk a bit about a few of the movies they watched in the past couple of weeks while home sick and then they each have 10 movies from the 1990s that they feel are worth watching.

Middle of the Row Episode 3 – Make Your Ears Bleed

Note: Sorry for this but due to technical difficulties my voice comes through with and echo for the majority of the podcast. I hope you are able to still listen as we cover some very good movies.

Row Three’s newest writer, Dave Becker joins me for a discussion about our picks for 10 movies from this decade that are worth watching. Of course we don’t just limit ourselves to the ten each. Dave first runs through his runner ups and I list off more than 10 Asian movies that would have likely replaced most of my list. We start off the discussion though with a look at what we have been watching.

Sorry if I haven’t gotten back to you if you sent me an email about joining in on the podcast. I’ve been swamped with stuff due to holidays and a new job at work. I should be getting in touch with your shortly.

Middle of the Row Episode 1 – The Cop Out Trailer Show

this episode
I ramble on a bit about the origins of Row Three, where the domain name came from and then I look at some of the early 2008 movies.

Here are a few of the movies that I cover:

I hope the longer show works well. I didn’t go too overboard, but with all the trailers it ended up passing the 35 minute mark.

I really encourage any criticisms and comments that you have about the podcast. I’m still learning how to do a podcast. I am also on the look out for someone with free time, a microphone and a willingness to spend some time chatting about movies approximately once a week to join me on the show. If you are possibly interested feel free to send an email to john@rowthree.com and we can chat offline about the possibility.

Oh and one final question… can someone please tell me why Google thinks I speak Spanish?
