Looking forwar to this episode to see what you guys think are the good ones and which are the bad… though they’re all bad.

I personally quite like the first Resident Evil movie.

Edge of Tomorrow and Wreck-it-Ralph are probably the best video game movies of the past few years… and neither are actually video game movies!

Does The King of Kong count? Seriously though, I can’t think of a single movie based on a video game that was worth anything (although I’ll be interested to hear what you guys have to say). I’m hopeful that Duncan Jones pulls it off with his Warcraft movie.

Glad you very briefly brought up Boll’s other films. “House of the Dead” is one of the worst pieces of shit I’ve ever seen.

You could say that about most Uwe Bolls films. Postal was another waste of my time. Can’t believe he wants to make another sequel.

While thoughts appear to be fairly divided, I still think that the first Silent Hill movie was among the best adaptations(from an atmospheric and visual standpoint). SH:Revelation was a big clusterfuck however. Street Fighter (w/ Van Damme) is still marginally ok. I will happily watch it on TV when channel surfing (cheesiness and all). I also really enjoyed Final Fantasy: Spirits Within (when most didn’t) although cinematic license has to be taken into context.

The opening ten minutes or so of Postal is some fantastic comedy. The rest of that film is boring and unfunny as hell.

The Streetfighter 2 anime is my favourite video game movie. It’s largely just a series of fight sequences, but it’s mega stylish and exhilarating.

The problem for me was I actually kinda like all the Resident Evil movies. 2-5 are pretty weak but I still pay to see them all in the theaters. Double Dragon for me is the perfect mix of utter dog shit and pure joy.

I’ll still pay to see the RE films as well. The last one was terrible, er, not terrible, just lazy and boring. I liked the one out in the desert with the zombie crows I remember. Still legitimately like the first one though.
