Comic-Con Trailer: Batman v Superman

wonderwoman

Well, one of my major complaints about Man of Steel (and many superhero flicks recently) is about to be addressed in Batman v Superman: the seemingly inconsequential destruction of Metropolis.

Because Bruce Wayne happened to be there and see it all go down.

See Wayne Financial crumble to the ground.

And Bruce Wayne… he’s pissed at Superman.

Also… Wonder freaking Woman shows up.

I really disliked Man of Steel… but I remain open-minded. We still have to wait until March 25, 2016 to see how this is going to turn out, but in the meantime, check out the recent trailer from SDCC.

Did you enjoy Man of Steel? What do you think of trailer’s portrayal of Batman and Wonder Woman? Chime in below!

I don’t know if it will be any good but Snyder is a much more interesting visual director than the likes of Colin Treverrow. Probably a good fit for Batman too as “it’s cool” seems to be one of the driving factors over the last 30 years in driving Batman in comics.

Welp. I love this trailer. It looks like it has a lot more personality than MoS.

And I’ll call it now. The movie may not pay off bc Snyder is always hit and miss with most people, even people who like him. But if not the best Bruce Wayne (Keaton forever), I think Affleck may end up being the best Batman.

*Shakes Fist* Damn you Snyder….you’ve hooked me again!! I should have learned my lesson between the “Wowsers-Malick-Trailer” and the eventual film that was Man of Steel, but apparently I have not…

And yes, I am actually digging the Batffleck.

I’m actually impressed that they seem to have come up with a character beat to go with the 9/11 imagery.

We’ll see, but exploring consequences instead of gliding past them for comedic effect, see Holly Hunter vs Gary Shandling,at least holds promise.

I would be very surprised if they can take the major flaws of MoS and successfully treat them as an opportunity to the extent that it makes MoS better, but if it does, I’ll be very happy.

Who are you? The tale of two trailers, one that goes for atmosphere and menace with Suicide Squad, not revealing much, to this blustering mess that is like every other comic book movie trailer combined. I don’t get it, neither of the Superman trailers has sold me on this at all. I’m with Andrew on this one. The whole courtroom drama that has played out in both Superman trailers… can’t wait!

Looks like a helluva mess to me. Batman vs Superman vs Lex Luthor vs Perry White vs Gov’t vs Wonder Woman.

And was that a glimpse of a Batman origin story I see in there? Good grief.

I do like the idea of them actually addressing what cinema goers were complaining about three years ago with the destruction of Metropolis. Nice concept, but I seriously doubt this is going to work very well. I’ve been suckered punched by Snyder too many times.

Also, no Costner -1

Of course, what is really needed is yet another version of Batman origin story! Otherwise what would audiences be left to think?!? There might be 4 or maybe 5 people out there in the world not familiar with Batman’s origin story! 😛

As for the trailer itself, I’m not seeing anything that would get me in the theatre so far. However, I’ve been pretty negative on the direction of DC live action since Man of Steel and unfortunately I don’t see that changing.

I’m sorry, but I can’t help but notice that you look like bizarro Matt Gamble in a toupe.

What is amzing about this is that this might by a reaction to the Internet’s outcry about the mindless destruction in Man of Steel.

Snyder cuts great trailers. The highlight of this BvS trailer for me was actually Wonder Woman. The first live-action glimpse of her in costume was genius. Snyder gave us no time to think or judge, just react. Bravo!
