I wasn’t sure about the opening corset gag, but the trailer soon got me hooked. This looks like a lot of fun. I’m not sure how the concept and character can sustain a full series, but I’m looking forward to it.

I’m very much looking forward to this. It seems like they nailed the tone of Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness 20+ years later.

Well, nobody embarrasses themselves here, and that is pretty impressive feat unto itself. I’ll give a few episodes a shot.

Glad to hear that this is indeed a successful show. I will wait until the entire thing is finished airing. Hopefully it will end up on Canadian netflix.

I am the biggest Raimi / EVIL DEAD fan on the planet, and I am not a fan of this series past the first two episodes. The 4th episode is downright LAME. I don’t need to see Ash on an acid trip! There’s also too many characters, the majority of which don’t interest me. I much prefer the claustrophobia of the first two films. There is very little daring camerawork too, outside of Raimi’s episode in the final act. I don’t know, this is all coming across as forced to me. I would’ve much preferred EVIL DEAD 4 by Raimi set in the supermarket, but that’s wishful dreaming that’s long past. Four episodes in, and I’m giving this series a C+ at best. I’ll stick with it since I started, but I’m becoming more unenthused about it as weeks go on.

Definitely agree that there are too many characters. Or, at least, too many underdeveloped characters. I like the rapport between Ash and Pablo. The State Trooper is just an awkward annoyance. I have hope for Lucy Lawless, but she’s been pretty much asked to be “badass and mysterious” to this point. Kelly has had her moments, but she should probably be more central considering she’s been dealing with the most personal loss.

I still think it’s fun. And I’m pleased that they’re trying to balance the laughs with legitimate scares. But, you’re not going to be able to coast on style and momentum on a television show.

I will say that if you wanted to make me smile, Ash’s hand returning to the cabin is way up there.
