Mamo #379: Blood and Chocolate

Mamo!

It’s finally time to close up the summer box office contest for 2014! Congratulations to our winner, Philip Poirot, for pantsing the rest of us on one of the hardest-to-call summers we’ve ever seen. We recap what happened from the back of a speeding car.

So congrats to Phil. Fun contest all around, lots of twists and turns.

I’m taking consolation in the following

1) last summer I played under a different name and I tied for 6th, this time tied for 3rd. So I’m getting better

2) $86k. That’s the difference between me and 1st place. Well, tied for 1st at least

I hate the new comment section….it looks dated.

I am a fan of the comment section of the red design. Top right– it hits you right away.

My fake entry scored 195. My real entry scored 78, although it would have been in the mix if X-men grossed $2 million more. I’m not sure what I learned here.

I’m liking the site design now after the tweaks by the way. I wasn’t quite sure about it in its initial uber-sparse form, but after the logo change with the three stripes down the side as well as a healthy presence of the all important ‘latest comments’ has filled it out nicely whilst remaining sleek and streamlined. I could do with the search box coming back though. I had to manually find my Dardennes Collection review today.

Search is in the upper left. But you’re right, I could make those more obvious. Sorry.

Agreed, I like it much better now, with the lefthand logo/lines and the recent comments on the right. I don’t, however, see a search bar on the top left? Where am I missing it?

Jandy, there’s a search icon (small magnifying glass) under the upper left hand corner WordPress logo. Click it once and the search field rolls out. The icon is in dark grey, so it isn’t easy to spot.

That is VERY difficult to see. I’d recommend upping the visibility on those icons, Andrew.
