First Image from New Pixar Film, INSIDE OUT

Inside Out

We do not often post this kind of news on this site, but after Planes, Monster University and Fire & Rescue, I’m just very happy to see an original Pixar movie happen. Inside Out is directed by Pete Doctor (Up, Monster’s Inc.) and is going to be released June 2015.

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.”

I have said this once and I will say it a million times and until people realize that, even though they are based off of CARS, the two PLANES movies have NOTHING TO DO WITH PIXAR!!!! The films are produced by DisneyToon Studios, which is better known as Disney’s direct-to-video division (both PLANES films were originally supposed to go that route).

That said, I am happy that Pixar is releasing TWO original films in 2015 (before releasing another sequel in 2016 with FINDING DORY)

BTW, there are actually two photos released for INSIDE OUT (the other one has the emotion characters).

Though I think Eddie Murphy already did this, I’m sure Pixar will fix the mental glitches.

This is an awesome concept for a movie that helps teach kids to understand and deal with emotions. Plus it’s fun.
