The Leftovers

Please help us keep things “safe” around here by making sure you heed to our fairly strict SPOILER POLICY.

PLEASE READ OUR *SPOILER* RULES:

Spoilers ARE ALLOWED in the comment section below. In fact, anything is fair game at the time of credits roll on any new episode in the U.S. eastern time zone.

However, here at RowThree, the first few words of any new comments automatically show up in the recent comments page. It can really piss people off if they show up to a site and the first thing they see is the name a of a show they’re behind on or haven’t gotten to yet and see that the first few words in a comment start off with a spoiler like, “In season 3 after Harvey gets shot in the face by Linda, I couldn’t believe it!”

TV shows, maybe even more so than movies these days, can be very spoilerific. Because of their long air times and shelf life, a lot of people just aren’t right on top of new shows the way they once were. So please try to be respectful for those of us who have not yet seen the show and cover up any spoilers you have.

HOW DO I “COVER” MY SPOILERS?
If you’re not sure how to do it by yourself, simply copy and paste the following text just before you leave a comment:

**SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER**
**SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER**
**SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER**
**SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER**
**SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER**
**SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER**
**SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER**

Even if you’re not sure if what you have to say is spoilery, the above text will cover your tracks safely.

Loved the pilot. I know Marina disagrees with me :p

I don’t know. Damon Lindelof tends to really rub me the wrong way. I really, really didn’t care for Lost (although I only made it through two seasons), the writing on Star Trek Into Darkness drove me crazy, and don’t even get me started on how awful the writing in World War Z was. Whatever it is people love about this guy’s stories, I have trouble getting on board.

When I saw the trailer for this, even knowing that it was HBO, it did nothing for me. Of course, there is the whole “Left Behind” rapture plot angle, but it also reminded me a bit of an R-rated Under the Dome, which I couldn’t even finish the first season.

Then again, I may have to check out the pilot and decide from there.

Have you seen The Shadow Line?

Carrie Coon is my new favorite person. Has anybody kept up with this show? I’m seven episodes in and it has got its hooks into me. While I’m a big fan of Lindelof, this is him subdued, trying for something serious and succeeding. I wonder how much of this though is Tom Perrota, he of Little Children. I’m at the point where things are starting to hint at the wtf-ness of Lost, wondering if it becomes a mystery box kinda show or remains rigidly character focused drama?

I have a co-worker that raves about this all day. I must partake of toute suite.

Jay praised it on Film Junk, that was the push I needed. The Max Richter score is overused but my God is it effective: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQTgEdghAOA&feature=youtu.be

yeah, this piece wasn’t made for the show, Richter had made it long before, just a bonus that it’s used here.
