Friday One Sheet: Minimalist Bigfoot

Bobcat Goldthwait’s very Blair Witch-ish Bigfoot movie, Willow Creek is a solid little found footage movie in a genre that produces a far too low quality to quantity ratio. Shot on location in Humbolt County California, The Bigfoot Capital of the world and area where the original Patterson-Gimlin footage was obtained, it’s a solid little indie (Ariel Fisher found it a bit more frustrating that I did.) production with good performances, and some surprisingly good characterization from Alexie Gilmore Bryce Johnson.

This new poster is far superior to the festival key art, and plays literally on the ‘big foot’ with the characters walking over the top of a simian-looking skull. It is very minimalist and I wish more films would adopt a less cluttered look to their posters. A slightly distressed red background might be cliche for a horror film, but you cannot deny that it is striking. Well worth a look when this ‘exists’ on VOD or is given a limited release into the wild.

Sure this is minimalist, but I like the other poster better.

Liked the movie quite a bit. Way more fun than expected.

I saw it when it played Toronto After Dark. I liked it, particularly the 20 minute long single take.
