THOR stinger SPOILERS! Some likely don’t consider stingers a spoiler, but there are some people who do.

The Thor 2 stinger is not quite about Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel here is playing the long game and setting up Avengers 3. The Collector is assembling pieces of the soul gems, also sometimes called the infinity gems which all 6 give power to the Infinity Gauntlet. At the screening of Thor 2 that I was at, a few comic fans in the crowd literally gasped out loud during the stinger.
Either the Collector is working for Thanos, or trying to assemble the Infinity Gauntlet for himself, only for them to be stolen from him by Thanos. I imagine throughout Phase 2 movies or stingers, the Collector will be seen getting more soul gems, until eventually Thanos comes into play leading up to Avengers 3.
That said, I do think it’s perhaps too much fan service. That Marvel should give more clues to mainstream audiences, but I guess it’s one of those things that Marvel is guessing will play better down the road once the dots have been connected in movies.
Also personally, I didn’t have a problem with how it looked. It reminded me of  Pacific Rim and Ron Perlman’s eccentric character with Kaiju organs and parts all around. That said, I do agree that a pull back shot would have been helpful.

I completely agree about the fight sequences – particularly the multi universe worm hole sequence which I had a similar reaction to: couldn’t believe that I hadn’t seen it before.
Lived that Russo got to fight, I too got a giddy DeLong at that, but I have issues with the fact that they killed off a great female character in service of moving the story of three male characters.
On the stinger, I did like it and I did look it up. In my limited reading of Guardians, he hadn’t come up yet.
And I hope Groot doesn’t talk. That would suck. I AM GROOT!

I have to admit that AGENTS OF SHIELD has grown on me and I’m officially on board with the show.  I’ve pretty much stopped worrying about where it fits in the Marvel Universe and just watch it as its own thing.

So I find it continues as the movies mirror the comics so much I don’t have any interest in either. When they started Marvel NOW if you looked at the list of people involved there was a lot of talent however Marvel also upped their double shipping program so all those quality artists whom I got excited about fell off fast.
Both the movies and the comics have started rolling down that hill and there is no breaking for anyone or anything no matter what effect it will have on the final products and that kinda turns me off.
I think when people get excited about a harder Daredevil they are looking towards the Frank Miller stuff which is all hard PG-PG13
I am assuming at least one of you two has read the Walter Simonson Thor and on the flip side if you have not am imploring you to do so.

I found out from a friend of mine over the weekend that there is actually 2 stingers for Thor 2. There’s second one right as the credits wrap up that is a bit more on the humor side of things.
