• 70th Annual Golden Globe Nominations

I understand that nobody really takes these awards very seriously (except me… kinda). But we would be remiss if we didn’t at least mention the Golden Globe awards that are generally accepted as the pre-cursors to the Oscars. As well as “Hollywood’s biggest party”. Not to mention a pretty good indication as to the nominees and winners that we’ll likely see at said Academy Awards.

This year’s noms are a pretty wide spread of films and stars. Looks like there is no clear front runner, though Spielberg’s Lincoln does lead the charge with seven. The two Christmas Day movies, Les Mis and Django Unchained come in second place with Argo and Silver Linings Playbook. The biggest surprise to me is probably seeing Salmon Fishing In The Yemen up for best picture.

What say you? Anything tickling your fancy here or are you one of the negative nancies when it comes to the foreign press slapping Hollywood on the back year after year?
