That’s right. Gone are the days of having to spend hours trying to type out your thoughts with the obvious sarcasm displaying itself as it should. Now you can contact us via the antiquated telephone* and just leave your angry comments or questions about the site using your own unique voice!
Starting right now, you can dial 612-367-ROW3 (7693) and leave a message at the tone. You can mention a specific post, call out a RowThree staff member or even another commentator (be polite please… unless you’re calling about Matt Gamble – in which case you should let him have it!).
We’ll have the ability to rebroadcast your message on the Cinecast and possibly/probably embed your recorded voice right into the appropriate comment section of any post on RowThree. From here on out, we’ll be accepting the Cinecast Homework Assignments via this system!
WARNING: We’ll of course screen calls for content and make judgments about posting voice messages appropriately. But please since you may want this voice mail public, please refrain from revealing any personal information like email addresses or phone numbers. Unless of course you want that information public.
*This hotline is a free service and no different from any other regular telephone number. However, RowThree is not responsible for any minutes or dollars charged that are applied to your phone bill as a result of calling us. 612 is an area code in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the United States. Please be aware of any long distance or international rate charges that might apply when calling this number.
We look forward to hearing from you!

Test voice message:
I tried it out (through the call me button) and I didn’t get any prompt to know if I am connected or not. I guess I could also try the number, but I don’t want the long distance charges.
OK, that widget doesn’t work how I thought it did. How it works, is you put in YOUR phone number and RowThree will call you. You answer and then you’re connected to our Voice Mail.
Not sure how that works in terms of charges go. Most mobile carriers (in the U.S.) have free long distance calling though.
Yeah, I think I get charged if I answer long distance calls. Oh well.
Problem solved.
I set-up my own Google Voice account, which currently allows free calls to the US and Canada, and I called and recorded a brief message with it.
Tell me if you got it OK.
Got it! Worked fine.
Never actually heard your voice before. You should do a podcast.
What have I been waiting for? Let’s do this!
Yikes! I just submitted a very awkward phone message]: It is a pretty cool feature, though.
Yeah I got it. Replied via Twitter DM. Thanks for using the feature though. Seems to work pretty well.
You get charged for RECIEVING calls in America? Holy shit.
You should make one of the calling options SKYPE, then people can place and recieve calls to / from you on their ipods at the cost of zero dollars and zero cents from anywhere in the world.
I’ve never heard of someone being charged for receiving a phone call, out side of collect and I don’t even really think that exists anymore.
Well, you do get charged minutes on incoming calls. Most carriers give you the first minute of any incoming call for free, but after that it will start costing you your minutes. Not sure how that works in regards to incoming international calls. Especially with a carrier from Europe.
