Topping my list of sexiest men a couple of months ago was one Ryan Gosling. That list is supposed to be based solely on look. But I have to admit that he probably wouldn’t have gotten to #1 with just his good looks. The guy is enormously talented as an actor as well. And now it seems we’ll find out if that talent can cross over to the other side of the camera.
Gosling is preparing his directorial debut which will feature his co-star from Drive, Christina Hendricks in the lead role. Apparently he also wrote the script.
How to Catch a Monster is a modern day fairy tale that weaves elements of fantasy noir and suspense into a story about a single mother of two (Hendricks) who is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.
Really? Fascinating. If someone had told me Gosling was writing and directing I wouldn’t be surprised. I would assume it would be some super indie drama or a quirky little comedy. A fantasy-noir that, on paper, sounds like it will require a lot of visual effects. So yeah, this will be interesting to see if Gosling can pull it off.
