I know a lot of you folks out there have a policy that if you are going to see a film anyway, if you are already salivating for it, then you avoid trailers. It might be worth a reconsideration of that policy when it comes to these micro-narratives that have been assembled for P.T. Anderson’s riff on Scientology and L. Ron Hubbard, The Master. All three of them have been absolutely magnificent.

I watched the first couple and really did like them. I ignored my usual trailer rule simply because after disliking There Will Be Blood as much as I did, I needed to be convinced to see the next PTA film. The first couple of trailers definitely convinced me to at least check it out. Is this one more about the Scientology angle?
I am in the same boat as you, Jandy. I really disliked TWBB. However these trailers have me intrigued. Also, I think Philip Seymour Hoffman is a fantastic actor and Joaquin Phoenix’s performance looks intense, so this film is on my Watchlist.
Out of the teasers that have been released for the film, this one is easily my favorite. Haunting stuff.
