Got a new (or old) favorite title that would you’d probably find shelved in this section of the book store? Then this is where you talk about it.

If you feel the need to have an in-depth discussion about the book with someone, that’s fine. But remember not all of us have turned every page yet or we might want to pick it up later. So try to just be courteous and mark your statement as a SPOILER so we don’t accidentally glimpse plot points in our recent comment section. Thanks!

Yes, I read this book due to the hype and because my friend told me it was a ‘wild ride’. I did like the construction of the book with the alternating perspectives of Amy and Nick. But I have to say that by the end of the novel, I felt pretty manipulated and was ultimately let down. For me, the payoff just wasn’t there.

I understand a movie is in the works and that Reece Witherspoon is one of the producers.

I am currently reading Atticus by Ron Hansen – who also penned the book The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, of which the Andrew Dominik film in based.

It’s about an aging Colorado cattle man who goes to Mexico after his eccentric alcoholic artist son commits suicide. Once there, he begins to suspect that it wasn’t a suicide at all.

It’s pretty solid so far. I could definitely see it getting adapted into a film, with someone like Sam Shepard in the role of Atticus Cody.
