So it’s all over but the drinking. Crystal came back and delivered his thing. Sacha Baron Cohen was a moron. And Berenice Bejo looked ravishing. Those were the only locks of tonight. Well, that and The Artist winning best picture. But there were a few upsets as well. There will be much dissection of the Academy Awards over the next couple of days I’m sure (including a couple of our own podcasts here in the third row), so let’s just get to it. And the winners are…

And just for fun, here is Kurt’s video review of THE ARTIST:

Managed to pull down 15/22. Enough to get me second place in my Oscar pool. A $15 gift certificate. I’ll take it!
I have lots to say about the show in general. Looking forward to an Oscar talk Cinecast.
It was definitely a crazy Oscars, with me only getting 13 of my predictions.
I also thought that Billy Crystal didn’t have the same “oomph” of his previous hosting gigs.
I was looking at my past results and 13 wasn’t all that bad, considering I usually average around 14 or 15 correct. However, it was a big drop from the 18 I got right last year and it was my lowest score since 2008 (in which I got 12).
My all-time best result was 21 in 2004 (the year Return of the King swept) and my worst result was a mere 10 in 2005 (the year Million Dollar Baby won).
Here’s a video of the Sacha Baron Cohen incident – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhAg0COnqds
I really didn’t care about the other awards, but I’m happy that Rango/Gore won for animated feature.
I think many peoples Oscar Pools are filled completely with tears this year.
Someone should start taking bets on who from The Artist will get the big hollywood gig first. Hollyweird is so predicable.
Jean Dujardin has already had some “auditions”
