Out of all the social networks, I like Twitter the best. I think it a great way to get information and/or communicate on the fly. I especially like using Twitter during TIFF when I can just follow the hashtag and see what films are buzzing (I remember the tweets about the lack of subtitles in Film Socialisme very well).

I also like how, in recent months, I’ve been able to use Twitter to connect more with the Toronto film community. In fact, it was a bit neat that Matthew Price (who follows me on Twitter) recognized and said hi to me last week while I was hanging out ( and tweeting) in the foyer of Bell Lightbox.

Speaking of the Lightbox, I absolutely love the place. I only went to a handful of Cinematheque screenings prior to the Lightbox and now, since the Lightbox has opened, I have seen over 65 films!

In terms of the Winter Programming, I’m not sure if I’ll see any films in the Attack the Bloc series (might go to one or two), but I will FOR SURE be at many films in the Nic Cage retrospective.

There’s reason Lucas probably couldn’t get anyone to help with distribution. The guy is now a hack that hasn’t done anything good since the 80s. I’m not a fan of the Star Wars films, but I love the Indiana Jones series. So, Im not blinded by the “greatness” of the creator of the Star Wars universe. He’s just not a good film maker.

If you concentrate solely on Luca’s work as a director/producer, perhaps you are right.

However, you seem to forget that Lucas also runs a special effects company (Industrial Light and Magic) and a post-production facility for sound effects and mixing (Skywalker Sound), both of which probably worked on films you had no idea had any connection with Lucas.

Yeah, i was just talking Lucas’s work. I Love ILM, Their probably the best overall in special effects. Plus, they gave us Rango.
