Albeit a bit spoilerish if you ask me, and totally misleading to boot. Nevertheless, Ti West’s excellent ghost story – a mixture of scares and laughs that somehow manages to do something new with the horror comedy while feeling like a bit of classic spook cinema – now has a trailer. This means it is one step closer to being released by Magnet Pictures, and that is pleasing!
Folks may be familiar with West’s previous 80s throwback and cult-film (or a film about a cult), The House of the Devil, and The Innkeepers (Kurt’s Review here, Jandy’s here) showcases more of his auteur-style, only this time it runs at the ‘ominous interiors’ atmosphere from a completely new and interesting direction.
If you like ghost stories, you are going to want to check this out whenever it gets released.
The trailer is tucked under the seat.

It’s maybe a little spoilery, but it’s not too bad. I won’t tell everyone not to see it the way I tried to warn people away from the Drive trailer. That was egregious. This is actually a decent trailer, and gets the chilling parts down pretty well. It doesn’t get quite how laugh-out-loud funny a good portion of the film is, though. In any case, the film is awesome, and everyone should see it.
