Sure it is an outrageous poster to get some more web traffick to the unnecessary sequel to the amusing 2009 horror satire, The Human Centipede, but you know what, it worked.

In which the two great image obsessions of my filmmaking career, vaginas and centipedes, finally collide.
Seeing vaginas and centipedes tonight at midnight!
The BBFC have finally decided to release this in the UK now, albeit with 2 1/2 mins of cuts. I’m not really interested in seeing it though to be honest – I have little love for films that are purely made to shock and disgust the viewer. It seems too easy to do and I’d rather not spend an hour and a half holding back the urge to vomit. Give me Jandy’s ‘Classic Horror Movies for People Who Don’t Like Gore’ any day of the week please! I don’t mind a bit of gore though now and again
Plus judging by reviews this is pretty crap anyway.
Nothing to do with the quality of the movie but I am so glad the BBFC came to their senses. We should be able to choose whether or not we want to watch a movie – it’s a MOVIE. As long as it’s not an actual snuff film or anything, if you’re over the age of 18 (as it is in the UK) then you’re an adult that should have the right to choose whether or not you want to watch it. If you don’t like what the movie has in it then no one is forcing you A Clockwork Orange style to watch it
Sorry for the mini-rant, it just pushes one of my buttons when I see stuff like that.
And totally, David, I’d rather take the stuff on Jandy’s post any day of the week
Yeah, banning a film in this day and age is ridiculous. Personally I find the 18 rating a bit odd though. Surely if you can legally have sex and get married at 16 you can watch a film with some tits, violence and swearing in it? I say ditch 15 and 18 and just have 16. Although these days its not like teenagers can’t just see what they want somehow anyway.
I’ve read that the actually movie is terrible (no surprises there), but for my money that’s two incredible evocative and creepily artful posters for this film now (the other being this one: http://s3-ak.buzzfed.com/static/imagebuzz/terminal01/2011/9/23/11/the-human-centipede-2-poster-is-gross-nsfw-22476-1316790317-4.jpg)
As for the censorship debate, I completely agree with David and Ross. The Australian Classification Review Board recently “refused classification” (a nice term for “banned”) A Serbian Film after pressure from a conservative politician, three weeks after they cleared it for a DVD release with an R18+ (NC-17) rating. Shows you how inconsistent (not to mention political) the censorship game can be. Bizarrely enough, they approved Human Centipede 2 for an R18+ with no cuts at all.
Saw it last night, liked it far more than I thought I would.
