    What is nihilist about Cronenberg? I think there is a difference between social responsibility and moral responsiblity. There is definately a morality to Cronenberg’s cinema. In fact, I don’t find nihilism in any of the filmmakers antho42 cites.

    Kitano is pretty widely regarded as nihilistic filmmaker. Haneke would probably be another good one to cite.
