The goal of the screen shot quiz it not to just guess what the movie is that the screen shot is from but to encourage discussion on the film. Feel free to shout out in the comments what the movie is and then provide an opinion or some thoughts on the movie. Oh and the first person who gets the movie right wins our respect.

I am 95% sure I’ve seen this. But none of that 95% can recall the title.
I finally caught up with this, I believe it is 12 Angry Men. I liked it a lot, but of the two Lumet discoveries for me, Fail-Safe is still the more impressive.
Sorry Rot, it is not 12 Angry Men. This one was a fun one to come up with a screen shot as I figured it would be really easy unless I picked a shot a bit more obscure from it. Oh and Jandy I’d be 99.9% sure that you’ve seen this one.
Okay, I’ve narrowed down the actor (was having one of those “hey, it’s that guy” moments for a second). Psycho?
BTW, John, you do a really good job of picking screenshots for this. Usually I’d think if an actor’s in the shot, it’d be easy to get, you manage to find ones that have people in them front and center and it still be a challenge.
Raffiffi?
I’m leaning towards Psycho myself – but only because Jandy mentioned it, and the still seems to fit my memory of that film. This one’s tricky!
the actor is definitely in 12 Angry Men though, that I am certain about.
You are correct about that, Mike. The actor is Martin Balsam. Just narrowing down what all he’s in – Psycho is the other main one I know off-hand.
It is Psycho and thanks Jandy for the compliment on picking shots. I either make the shot myself or browse the web until I find something that stands out for some reason but doesn’t automatically say what the movie is. I’m sure if I had picked Janet Leigh or Anothony Perkins the quiz would have been really easy.
It is also getting harder and harder to do the quiz as I don’t want to do movies I’ve already done and I try to films that I’ve seen most of the time. I’ve seen a lot of films but it does become a challenge to pick out the film and then shot.
I was originally going to guess that it was an episode of either Alfred Hitchcock Presents or Twilight Zone, but your post indicates that it’s definitely a movie.
That being the case, something about that screen shot tells me that he’s playing a cop, so I’d have to guess either Cape Fear or Psycho.
Yay, I got one! See, when you do pre-1965 black and white movies, I can get them.
The actor looks like a slightly over weight Joseph Cotten!
