Absent from Marina’s trailer round-up post from earlier today (probably because those are likely to actually be good films), is this little summertime (releasing in August) gem that is part 300 and part Prince of Persia with not a hint of Schwarzenegger. Yeah kids, before he was governor of Caleefonya, he was Conan. Now it’s some other dude. Check it out…

Is it possible for a trailer to make me any LESS interested in a film?
Really? I thought that was cool. Definitely better than that terrible smoke teaser.
Setting the bar low with the teaser doesn’t make a mediocre trailer make me anticipate the movie. Andrew is bang on with the Prince of Persia comparison….Everything is so glossy and polished when it should be raw, sweaty and rough. Quite simply this seems to be a dead wrong approach to the material. But then again, I’m a rather huge fan of the John Milius film, so there was likely no pleasing me with this remake/reboot/etc. anyway
I guess I can see where you’re coming from if you want it to be one thing and it ain’t. And yes, it’s far from an original trailer but I still think it looks fun.
If by “the one thing it ain’t” you mean “quality, interesting genre filmmaking”…then yes, we are on the same page.
It was absent from the roundup because it hadn’t dropped when I posted that earlier today. Agree it looks a bit over polished but still fun. Nothing wrong with the Prince of Persia comparisons. I had fun with that one too.
I’ve never seen an episode of Stargate Atlantis which Fason Momoa was on but I am enjoying his small role on Game of Thrones.
And apparently Ron Perlman is in this? Must watch trailer again. Didn’t notice him then first time.
Thanks for showing us the trailer for THE SCORPION KING 3-D—excuse me:the new 3-D CONAN movie.
