• Priest Forgot the Kitchen Sink

I had the privilege of seeing the newest Priest trailer in the theatre today, and I haven’t been so “WTF did I just watch” about a trailer for a while. So I had to share it. Vampires, warrior priests, CGI demon creatures AND Karl Urban as a cowboy villain channeling the dark side of the Man With No Name. I realize this is based on a comic book or something (with which I am not familiar), but this looks like quite a mess, throwing anything it can think of into the mix. Also it’s been in development for at least three years, and was originally due for release last summer.

Has anyone read the source graphic novel? Is there a chance this will have enough decent action to be…decent? I do like the shot of him riding away from the city. Or have the years of development hell taken their toll?

The Korean comic is okay; however, this film trailers looks nothing like it. It does look like a fantastic mess.

The only thing that worries me is that it’s the same crew that did Legion.

I think one of the reasons it got buried was because LEGION was such a mess. They’re hoping people will have forgotten that disaster when they release this one and at least get a weekend of boxoffice tickets out of it.

That said, looks like the sort of batshit crazy stuff I like. I just hope it’s better than LEGION because that was so bad it dug a hole way lower than “so bad it’s good.”

I shall await your review, Marina, before daring to check it out myself. :p Thing is, it makes total sense this is from the same people as LEGION (which I did know) – I didn’t see LEGION either, but its trailers looked like a similar mess to this.
