Battle L.A. - if that’s the worst movie of the year (which it’s not – by a long shot), then we’re doing pretty good.
I look forward to the Sucker Punch debacle sometime tomorrow though.

You guys nailed it on the Superman thing. I personally am not a fan of Superman Returns or Superman I (and Iv is obvsiously a piece of shit). But the reason I don’t like those films is Kryptonite. Snooze. 2 and 3 are good because the writers came up with interesting ways to put Superman in some sort of peril other than boring and lazy old Kryptonite.
You’re probably the first person I’ve ever seen attach a descriptor of “good” to Superman 3, but generally I agree.
It’s better than good. It’s pretty great actually. I eagerly await Jay Cheel’s defense piece he claims he’s been working on for a year or so. The whole movie is basically a screw-ball comedy and it works like gangbusters. The opening credit sequence alone lets you know what you’re in for. I mean its damn near slap-stick in a lot of places. I love the rooftop with the snow and Richard Pryor is pure gold in every single scene he’s in – I love the Patton bit. I could go on and on about how awesome that movie is. It’s a toss-up on which one is better: 2 or 3.
Watching “evil” Superman is a treat. The whole thing is an absolute stitch.
