• Cinecast Episode 204 – Varying Degrees of Ludicrous

When they put halfway decent films into the theatre, it gives us the wherewithal to get together and shoot the bull on them. Gamble, Kurt and Andrew are back at full strength to consider the particulars of determined fates and stylish hats in The Adjustment Bureau and the manic insanity of Gore Verbinski’s animated western, Rango. We may not agree on all the details of each of the film, but they both get us talking. Then it is around the table for what we’ve been watching outside the cinema, 60s star-studded pageantry (in Cinerama!), 70s spy romances, 80s nostalgia, 90s quality entertainment and aughties time travel. Actually, the latter was a sneak peak at Source Code, but onward. Gamble also drops some serious love for Fernando Di Leo’s Italian Euro-crime thrillers. We are also introducing a new segment this week involving Netflix Instant that goes hand-in-hand with our DVD picks. Join us for a lengthy show, find something to multi-task with, and for gods sake, put the coffee down. Coffee is for closers.

As always, please join the conversation by leaving your own thoughts in the comment section below and again, thanks for listening!

So no one is looking forward to Jane Eyre? ):

  3. Mike Rot says:

Taken it as a given that Marina is looking forward to Jane Eyre, I am really looking forward to it myself. Mostly the Fassbender + Gothic factor.

  4. Kurt says:

The undertaker is certainly a tip of the hat to Yojimbo/FistFullofDollars

  5. I’m hoping Rango can tip Arizona Dream as Depp’s 2nd craziest film, though I doubt it, that film is insane, seen it? Seeing Rango Monday, right up by graffiti-alley.
