• Gordon-Levitt and Rogen cancer dramedy gets a release date.

It was announced by The Wrap yesterday that the upcoming Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen cancer-dramedy has altered its title from the rather bland Live With It to the much more interesting 50/50. The official release date has also been confirmed as September 30 of this year.

If you are yet to hear about it, the film is inspired by the true story of a young producer and his years-long battle against cancer, which despite the depressing content is allegedly going to be a rather upbeat comedy. Directed by Jonathan Levine (The Wackness, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane), the film is rounded out with a pretty stellar cast that includes Anna Kendrick, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Anjelica Huston.

As always, the more Joseph Gordon-Levitt that makes it the screen, the better. This should help warm him up for 2012, where he is currently set to headline two films – the David Koepp (Stir of Echoes, Ghost Town) action-thriller Premium Rush and the Rian Johnson sci-fi mob movie Looper.

As long as it doesn’t turn into ‘Funny People’, I think everyone will be satisfied. JGL is our generation’s Johnny Depp.
