It has been a long and bumpy ride to release for Terrence Malick’s latest film which was expected as early (well wishful thinking!) as Cannes 2009, but looks to be getting some sort of release around the time of Cannes 2011. Fox Searchlight has picked up distribution (and they do this as good or better than anyone) after the previous distribution house fell apart (this being the times that we are in) and hopefully they make it a wide one. Malick’s work certainly deserves to be seen on the big screen and he only makes a movie every decade or so and besides, this will live up the early-in-the-year doldrums, won’t it?
