Not much interest in 127 Hours yet, but if the buzz from TIFF makes its way across the universe I think there will be. Many people have fainted watching the film, I have it on good authority that it is awesome (someone who didn’t like Slumdog Millionaire). If it is anything in the realm of Touching the Void I will be ecstatic.
I think it’s pretty much a three-way tie for me between Never Let Me Go, Black Swan, and Somewhere. Seeing Never Let Me Go on Saturday, though, so that’ll be one down.
Never Let Me Go is mine. But True Grit intrigues me and early word on Black Swan is that it is mesmerizing. I’m a big Portman fan and I’ve heard (MAMO!) that this is her best performance to date.
I’m Still Here IS really good (especially since we now know the truth) and of course all of the marketing for Social Network has me completely on board.
Still, Mulligan, Garfield and Knightley are th ones who have my money as of now.
all people talk about at TIFF is Black Swan and 127 Hours… so what wins the People’s Choice Award? The Kings Speech… a film no one uttered in my presence.
I am disappointed that I missed John Cameron Mitchell’s RABBIT HOLE at TIFF this year, I heard a lot of people talk about it. But now that I have finished my last festival film, I’ll be catching NEVER LET ME GO in the regular theatres at some point.
As it stands now, The Social Networkk tops my list. At first, I wasn’t really sold about the film’s premise( A bloody Facebook movie!), but the buzz has been tremendous.

Space Battleship Yamato!!
(although, the end of the year release is in Japan and we’ll probably not be able to see it until way later next year ;/ )

I’m pretty surprised that Black Swan is the clear winner so far and that True Grit has such a low vote. True Grit definitely has my vote.
