I am getting all warm and tingly having just watched this brief teaser trailer. Based on the incredible fantasy series of novels A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin, HBO is putting together a high-quality small screen adaptation, where each of the seven sprawling novels will make up a single season. The teaser shows very little, but good lord… is it too early to say that this may be the most amazing fantasy television series ever? I am almost sure of it. I mean, Sean Bean and Peter Dinklage?

If you haven’t read at least the first novel, I highly recommend doing so before this comes to television in 2011. The characters are rich and complex and set around an epic story. This baby is going to translate very well for HBO, I believe.
