Allow me to be shallow for a moment (again) and get excited about the upcoming fourth entry in the guiltiest of guilty pleasures Resident Evil series. I will go to great lengths to get my Milla fix (including actually purchasing Resident Evil movies on Blu-ray, though I have so far resisted buying Ultraviolet). As much as I love The Fifth Element, there’s only so many times I can watch it in a row.
Anyway. The first stills from Resident Evil: Afterlife have turned up on MySpace. That’s one up above; click through to see the rest. No sign yet of the gazillion Alices that ended RE3, but I’m sure they’ll turn up at some point. Because if one Milla is good…a gazillion Millas is better. Right? Right.

Right there with you, Jandy. Haters be damned!
I take it you own Milla’s album? The Gentleman Who Fell, kind of good in a crap way.
I do actually.
A friend actually bought an autographed copy off ebay for me.
Weirdly, though, I realized the other day that I’ve NEVER seen a Milla movie in theatres. I suspect Resident Evil: Afterlife may be the first one.
my friend had the cassette tape, and I listened that way.
I love Milla. I’ve seen them all on the big screen. Gosh, now I have an itch to watch The Messenger and The Claim back to back. Where the hell did that come from?
Marina, ha! Those are two I haven’t seen. Is The Messenger any good? I remember when it came out thinking it didn’t look good (and I wasn’t a big Milla fan yet at that point); I’ve heard good things about The Claim, though, and I might put it to the top of Netflix queue.
Relatedly, Amazon just send me the shipping notification for RE1 and RE2 (plus Planet Terror, which for some reason was backordered and held up the whole thing for WEEKS to my great consternation). Looking forward to a guilty-pleasure-zombie-killing triple feature in the near future!
Double Feature: The Messenger and Passion of Jeanne D’Arc
That’s an excellent thought, rot. I think both are on Netflix Instant, actually, so I could do that easily. Wonder why I didn’t think about it? Probably because I don’t think of “Milla fix” and “classic silent film” in the same breath, even though those two are based on the same story.
The trailer for this will be on Clash this weekend.
The Messenger isn’t very good but I still enjoy it.
The Claim on the other hand, is excellent.
@Mike – good call on the double bill – that could definitely work, especially if you see The Passion…first.
“The Messenger isn’t very good but I still enjoy it.”
So, then, it’s like 98% of all Milla movies. I can deal with that.
