Delicious and somewhat depressing since probably nobody these days knows who Godard is, and nobody cares who Anderson is, and you can't parody Tarantino and Lynch because Tarantino and Lynch are already parodies. Andrew Bouvé cannily deconstructs their styles and reveals, in less than a minute apiece, which of them are true auteurs and which are merely poseurs. The winners are Godard and Herzog...and Bouvé.

That was awesome. I liked the Lynch one the best. It's so obvious, it's hilarious.

So wait... Jean Luc Goddard didn't really direct the Superbowl? Well now I feel like a fool. Thanks Kurt!
If you've got a real scoop I'd like to hear it.

So these are not actually directed by these directors but made in a style that they might have?

God, i love the Herzog bit even if it simply takes a bit of narration out of context.

It made me wonder how to define the characteristics of Herzog's style, and i'm not sure i can pin it down. Besides his narration in documentary features as used in the clip, and perhaps his physical, or anolog, approach to filmmaking.
