There wasn’t a whole lot of excitement around these parts when it was announced that Géla Babluani would be remaking an English language remake of his thriller 13 Tzameti. Some were put off by the casting of 50 Cent and Jason Statham but with Mickey Rourke and Sam Riley also on board (and OMG Alexander Skarsgård), 13 certainly has my attention.
It’s still early on considering the film only started shooting in November, but we’ve tracked down what appears to be the first poster for the project. It’s not awesome, but I also don’t hate it – indifference, in this case, is a bit of a blessing.

Hmm, guess I need to go find the original. I’ll see this if for nothing else to see Sam Riley!
It’s definitely worth seeing the original. Though I’d suggest avoiding everything about it until you do. Thankfully, I’d seen it with no prior knowledge. Then when it came to theaters in the US I caught a trailer that pretty much gave you the entire story. Which in this case was an especially bad thing.
I’m glad the folks who did the original probably got a decent payday out of it. But it seems like it’s been an especially comical year for announced re-makes. At least this is the same director I suppose.
Agreed Rich – avoid any info on the film until you see it. It’s much more effective when you have no idea what’s coming.
Okies, I’ll add it to my list. Fortunately I don’t know anything about it because I kept thinking it was Intact(o) so I didn’t look further. Bizarre.
Sucks that they are remaking this. But, heck, they’re remaking Death at a Funeral so I guess they might as well remake every freakin’ movie ever made at this point
