Hey Doug, you should find an outlet to write more movie reviews. I always enjoyed your role on TMB as more than just comic relief.

I saw Old Yeller as a child and it remains as one of my most memorable film viewing experiences. I cried till my guts hurt.

Just a lot more. The film breathes even more than the theatrical cut. Considering the film is never in a hurry to get anywhere, more is better in this case.

Kurt, I don't think I've seen the director's cut version of The New World. Is it a lot different?

Bob, I too have a HUGE Stanwyck-bias. I think she makes even the worst films worthwhile. It can be the dumbest story with the worst script, but if she's in it, I'll like it. So yeah. I enjoy Christmas in Connecticut a lot, but if you didn't like Stanwyck, you probably wouldn't like it. Although, how could you not like Stanwyck? Seriously. Plus, look at that supporting cast! It's almost like a roll-call of great Warner character actors.

I'm always up for another round of THE NEW WORLD. I should probably go out and buy the directors cut, but both versions are pretty awesome.

You know, I would definitely put "Christmas In Connecticut" in my top holiday films. I think it's great fun. My love of Stanwyck is well-documented, though, so my bias is showing.
