I too remember this one most from childhood, I remember the pigs and the Thunderdome fight, but unlike you I find the feral kids detour the worst part of the film. I like the idea, but the execution is bad, like everything in the film. Coherency is not one of the chief ambitions of this franchise, I do find its like a kid playing with his toys, and the actual 'story' is something scarcely remembered as each sequence begets the next. Overall I am not enjoying a lot of the films I have seen thus far in the marathon, I hope it improves.
