I quite like Bob le flambeur, but I have to go with Bob (Turnbull) on preferring Le doulos. I was mesmerized by that movie. Le samourai and Cercle rouge are two I haven't seen yet; the former's pretty high in my queue, though. Bob, I grew up with Seven Brides; I don't know if I would enjoy it as much now if I hadn't. I just about had it memorized when I was a kid.

Yeah “Bob” is great. And it’s one of my least favourite Melville films – just shows how fantastic the others are (definitely catch “Le Doulos” later in the week if possible as I put it right up there with “Le Samourai” and “Cercle Rouge”).

I love a good musical, but “Seven brides” didn’t quite do it for me. That barn raising dance is terrific, but not that much else worked for me.

And “Roman Holiday”…Audrey…Sigh…

wednesday 6:15pm Bob le flambeur, highly recommend people catch this great Melville film. Neil Jordan did an update with his Good Thief, but the original is far superior.
