Are you one of those curmudgeons that prefer to be the Halloween equivalent of Ebeneezer Scrooge and say “bah humbug” to the trick or treaters and the costumes and the parties and just sit at home and watch TV with the lights off? If so, then I say good for you. It’s the perfect night to catch up on some old horror classics or some of the newer blood curdling extreme film making. But what if you forgot to run to the video store this evening or your cable is out? Luckily, YouTube has got you covered.
For tonight only, YouTube is hosting a whole bunch of free scary movies to tide the thirst of any wanna be vampire. From Vampirism documentaries to Elvira’s Movie Macabre. But the most high profile being Bram Stoker’s Dracula starring Gary Oldman, Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder; directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
So if you’re bored this Halloween and looking for free streaming, scary goodness, check out YouTube’s Halloween coverage.

anyone with any good halloween notes?
the comic stores in Toronto always have the best parties so hit up those. Our crew of Roddy Piper, Randy Savage and the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase were well received. We had a Carmen Sandiego in our team as well. There’s always lots of comic characters obvious (Joker), sort of obvious (Tick/Arthur) and not so obvious (minor characters I couldnt even name). At least the dumb skanky girl costumes are of SOMETHING, Power Girl, Zatana, Baroness, Emma Frost or Silk Spectre. And conceptual costumes nobody gets and has to have explained to them, like the guy who went as Ancient Roman Polanski. There was a vampire from the Lost Boys who almost punched out a dude for calling him Spike. My favorites were probably the Ghostbusters Gatekeeper/Keymaster pair, and the massively oversized Pinky and The Brain couple.
We had a pretty kick-ass JAY & SILENT BOB, the couple from Juno, LJ & I had the work crowd over, as she was Brunehilde Maude Lebowski, I was Jesus Quintana, we had a Walter Sobchack show up, but no Dude. We had a Zombie Kindergardener, a Braveheart Mel, Moses, and Gandalf and A pair of Roman’s (not polanskis though…)
heh Kurt, I found your year by year archive of costumes and its funny to look at them all in a row like that.
In the last several years I’ve been Captain Vegetable, Friend Records, Pyramid Head, Orgazmo, and Beetlejuice. Every year except for two have I had to deal with the problem of choosing something a little too niche.
What was Ancient Roman Polanski?
Not sure how it is Vampire or even Halloween related, but included in the list of Halloween links at YouTube was the full version of Sita Sings the Blues:
