Bourne 4 Trailer
Well not really; but it might as well be titled that. The new movie from Bourne director, Paul Greengrass, entitled Green Zone will hit theaters in March of next year. Rope of Silicon is talking 2011 Oscar love for this thing which truly baffles me.* I mean sure this might be the next great action picture (ala Dark Knight), but if what is essentially Jason Bourne in Iraq gets Oscar love while Greengrass’ United 93 got almost no mention at Award season (a complete traveshammockery) then I will officially sever myself from any tethers I have to the Academy (which, A] is zero and B] I always say but watch and discuss Oscar anyway).
At any rate take a look at the trailer (tucked below the seat). It does look fairly well shot and action oriented and likely entertaining as hell. Besides Damon, we’ve got Greg Kinnear, Brendan Gleeson and (the we need much more of this actress) Amy Ryan in co-starring roles.
What do you think? Am I off base in calling this yet another Bourne movie?
* UPDATE: Now that the Oscars nominate ten best pictures, I suppose damn near anything is eligible. Which doesn’t put a nomination for Green Zone completely out of the realm of possibility.

In fact this is a pretty creative way to get ‘Bourne’ back in government work and fightin’ the man, not unlike the previous entries in the series. I’m on board!
