Ye Have Little Faith: The Wolfman Trailer
I was already excited at the prospect of seeing Joe Johnston creature feature The Wolfman. The project peaked my interest with the cast that includes Benicio Del Toro as the titular character, Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving and Anthony Hopkins but the film completely sold me when the first official trailer made an appearance on the web. It featured great effects and stylistic flare which I was buying into in a big way.
Nothing’s changed. The film still looks great, the effects still appear to be top notch but what gives? Why another trailer that gives away even more of the movie? Does the studio have so little faith in the director and cast that they’re willing to spoil any elements of surprise in an effort to get sell more tickets? Seems like a dumb move to me but they’re free to do whatever they’d like. Personally, I stopped watching partway through since it looked like the trailer was more of the same except with some new scenes. I’m still excited but scratching my head at what a third trailer for the film might reveal.
The Wolfman is still scheduled for release on February 10, 2010.
Trailer is tucked under the seat!

Wait wait wait. A trailer giving away more than it needs to? I’m shocked. I mean I haven’t been talking about this since April or anything.
But yeah, all about this movie. It looks fun as hell.

Smart ass. You’re absolutely right. I just can’t believe they needed another trailer.

Either way, that was a pretty sweet trailer.

I remember seeing the trailer before Inglorious Basterds… it was stunning. Shame this thing will miss the October/Halloween release window.
