With a whopping 14 projects “in development” including a highly anticipated “Alien” prequel in pre-production, latest news of Ridley Scott is that of benevolent Bombshell, Angelina Jolie signing on to play the role of murderous femme fatale, Patrizia Reggiano in his biopic of fashion dynasty, Gucci in the 70′s and 80′s.
We’ve seen her in “Gia”, so effortless glamor and decadence is in no danger with Jolie attached. As of yet, there is only a rumor of “Body of Lies” star Leo DiCaprio joining forces with Scott on this project.
Though no confirmation exists on the film’s IMDb page, “Untitled Gucci Biopic”, and no trace of Jolie is found in her other steamy, rumored role (in place of Jane Fonda in the “Barbarella” remake- other names proposed have been Megan Fox and Rose McGowan) I’m a real fiend for a fabulous biopic, and with fashion making its name in film this year with period piece “Coco Before Chanel” and “Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky” as well as the Anna Wintour documentary “The September Issue”, I couldn’t be more thrilled about this announcement.
However, I’m sure it wasn’t this season’s gasoline-colored patent leather handbags or super-slick, strappy stiletto buckle-boots that had Scott foaming at the chops to get this telling of the world’s biggest brand and the untold-drama underway.

I’m not all that picky on who takes on the biopic but I am excited to see it. All that couture from the 70s and 80s….OMG fashiongasm!
