For all the MJ fans living in panic that the two weeks from Oct 27th-onward is their only chance to experience the concert that never happened- fear not. With these advance-box office numbers, I believe it’s safe to say an extended theatrical run is certainly underway- the Jackson’s will be sure to ride this one out! The pre-sale success has Kenny Oretga’s farewell to the King- This is It holding the 23rd spot on the top-25 advance ticket sales of all time, moving ahead of The Departed and the recent Bond-addition, Quantum of Solace (and there is still time for this thing to grow!) I am one of the folk looking to snag some opening-night tickets, and though the “success” in sales has headlined a number of reports, nearly every single screening in New York City for both the midnight show on the 27th and its first day on the 28th are still available (according to online investigation).
I have yet to find a sold-out screening. What screenings are the reports talking about?
On the topic of pre sales; Anne Thompson for Indiewire.com reports on the Jacko-sales statistics as well as the much anticipated (to say the least) Stephenie Meyers New Moon advance ticket sales, which I think to have a far more rewarding incentive for the purchasing-public. No not just Robert Pattinson, in this case it’s an exclusive remix of one of the film’s soundtrack hits!…watch out world!
And if you haven’t seen the uplifting trailer- This Is It

MJ still gives me the willies, I simply cannot ignore the last 15 years of his career when listening to his music.
And the poster for this ‘film’ if viewed from far enough away, looks like a Rams Skull!
