• The return of Mel Columcille Gerard Gibson!

I don’t even care, man. I’m frickin’ excited for this. Can you believe when Edge of Darkness (what a manly title!) comes out, it will have been eight years since Mel Gibson graced the big screen with his leading role machismo? It also has Ray Winstone and Danny Huston – and lots of guns and revenge and death directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, GoldenEye). Could they make a more masculine, testosterone-fueled movie if they tried? Man! I can’t wait. I’ll be leaving the womens home for this one on opening night. Sorry ladies, dudes only on opening weekend and hopefully a lot of high fives throughout.

Really though, I’m serious. If you don’t want to see this, how can you even call yourself a man? Wuss.

January 29, 2010 is kind of a lame release date, isn’t it?

Shit man! This is like the equivalent of Rocky 6 or Die Hard 4! A new Mel Gibson action movie? And it’s directed by Martin Campbell?!?!?! I’m PUMPED!!!!!!!

  2. Kurt Halfyard says:

…And the trend of constantly condensing and american-ifying BBC Miniseries continues (See also, State of Play, Traffick, Pride & Prejudice (although that one can be argued to be two different adaptations of the Austin novel…))

  3. Laura Desiree says:

Think it’ll be better than Taken?
You know Gibson was fumed about missing that chance at the Daddy-Hero role.

I don’t think that really matters when it comes to this movie, the only reason anyone is going to want to see it is to see Gibson in a new Action movie.

  5. Marina Antunes says:

Forget Gibson. I’m all about Ray Winstone and Danny Huston. I think even my dad will see this.

  6. Laura Desiree says:

No way is my dad going to miss opening night of this one.

  7. Henrik says:

This isn’t the Mel Gibson adults want to see.

  8. Jonathan B. says:

Please Henrik, elaborate, because I think this is exactly the Mel Gibson adults want to see, thus the snarky post. He’s a grown up Martin Riggs meets Porter from Payback.

  9. Andrew James says:

I wanna see this yesterday. When I was drunk on Jack Daniels and eating beef jerky.

    Kick ass.

  10. Henrik says:

Mel Gibson can actually act. The faux badass parts like this one are the worst possible thing for him to get back to.
