That vodka, according to the Hollywood Reporter, is called The Godfather Italian Organic Vodka. Clearly aiming towards the film buff or college frat boy crowd, it is, of course, branded after the film that many consider one of the greatest Americans movies of the 70s (if not all time), and Paramount is backing it with a heavy promotional campaign before its release in April 2010, because they are “very confident, in the liquid quality and in the taste profile, that people will be very much attracted and will want to make (The Godfather Vodka) a part of their profile.”
So, hopefully it’s not just another cheap vodka that tastes like rubbing alcohol and it may actually go down smooth – but smooth or not it is a commonly shared sentiment that new brands of vodka have difficulty breaking into the market, although clever advertising and affordable prices can help.
If you were in the liquor store, would this catch your eye? And if so, would the label be enough for you to purchase it? Lastly, feel free to come up with other dream movie-related alcoholic beverages. Maybe somebody will notice.

If the Godfather was about a Russian crime family then yes that would make sense but the only alcohol I picture when thinking about The Godfather is red wine. Strange that Coppola didn’t jump on this earlier since he makes wine himself.
