Twitch posts a lot of interesting and varied trailers throughout the week. So many in fact that I usually just glance by most of them and maybe only watch one or two per week. Usually it takes something special (like a particular cast member or director name) to get me motivated enough to click “play.” In this particular instance, it was the awesome one-sheet displayed at the top of the post.
Dismayed at first that the trailer doesn’t have English subtitles, the trailer for La Doppia Ora looks almost Coen Brothers-esque as it seems to get fairly neo-noirish and intense by the end with little dialogue. But like the poster above, it looks really really great aesthetically. Sort of like maybe if Carlos Reygadas did a thriller. Since this is Giuseppe Capotondi’s directorial debut, I don’t really know what to expect. But if the marketing is any indication this looks like it is one of those hidden gems that only a handful of us will be privileged enough to see.
Check out this very “smart, adult looking” trailer below the seats for La Doppia Ora (The Double Hour) – compliments of Twitch Film.

That one-sheet is indeed awesome
Looks like we both missed this one at TIFF.
