Eastwood and Damon Re-team for Hereafter
The working relationship between Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon must be very healthy. The two just wrapped on Invictus, a drama which looks at the life of Nelson Mandela after the fall of apartheid in South Africa during his first term as president (it’s due for release on December 11th), and now there’s news that they will be re-teaming on a new project.
A supernatural thriller penned by Oscar nominated Peter Morgan, there’s very little to tell about Hereafter other than what Variety noted when the script was purchased last year which is that it “is in the vein of The Sixth Sense.” That doesn’t really do much for me but Morgan is a talented writer and Eastwood isn’t exactly an amateur behind the camera. Add Damon to the mix in the lead role and I expect that this could be much better than the slim details may suggest.
As the project moves forward we’re likely to see more casting news and perhaps a few more details on the story.
