• Trailer Park Boys: Countdown To Liquor Day

trailer_park_boys_2At the local mutliplex last friday I caught a glimpse of the poster for Trailer Park Boys 2 in the lobby. Not the magnificence of the one-sheet to the left, but rather simply a kitty wearing coke-bottle glasses, the iconic pair worn by known cat lover, Bubbles, in the cult Canadian TV show The Trailer Park Boys. The mockumentary comedy managed to air for seven seasons up here in the Great White North and because a pop culture hit, spawning a couple of TV specials and a feature film produced by Ivan Reitman. The first film was a disaster because they pretty much threw continuity out the window in an attempt to cultivate a wider audience. Apparently lessons have been learned and Trailer Park Boys 2: Countdown to Liqourday has gone more the Serenity route. Wrap up the TV show with a coup de grace feature!

I am not clear how familiar US audiences are with this show, I believe in a strange round-about way it aired in the US on BBC America. Maybe bleeped maybe not. The trailer (tucked under the seat) is borderline NSFW though as a key seen involves some high-speed urination. You have been warned.

Trailer Park Boys 2 opens wide in Canada on on September 25, but if you happen to be in Halifax on September 17th, it is premiering the Atlantic Film Festival.

    http://vidreel.com/video/NTc2Njc0/

May have to update your Divx to the newest version to get it to play….no biggie

    You can thank me later.

    Or now, that’s cool too.

  23. DJshitA says:

It is so dicktwistingly unfair that us fucks south of the boarder either get TPB in castrated versions(BBC) or not at all(movie release). I have to say a big fucking thank you to
DTV’s 101 channel for broadcsting the seasons in thier virgin form(ie., no bleeping or editing of content that I noticed).

If it were not for the 101 on DTV I would probably have taken a lot longer to ‘discover’ the beauty that is this series. I get lost in it, it sustains me, it increases my already salty vernacular, and it gets me hot in the lady parts staring at Robb Wells bumpety forearms…..sigh.

I tried so bloody hard to make it to Nova to see it at the AFF, and to go to the afterparty to meet and greet fellow fans and cast/crew, but the universe said fuck no girl, not this time.

I salivate with envy for you Canadians who have seen Countdown in your indigenous settings and look forward to the day when I can love it up as much as you do.

My eternal respect and ball cupping handi j(no offense annemarie) joy to Clattenberg et al for creating what will be for me a life long joyful wonder that is and will always be T to the motherfucking PB!

  38. Phil says:

Hey i gots a soundtrack question too. What song is playing when they are about to torch the monte carlo limited edtion mint condition?

  39. Pat says:

does anyone know the song playing right at the beggining when lahey is running around the beach

  40. rachelle says:

Where is the soundtrack for this fantastic movie? Every time I watch the movie I rewind it a few times to listen to the song that is playing while ricky is going to see his dad in the tugboat… I grew up in halifax and i know where that is, and never have i ever been so happy i’m canadian, being able to see this shit in theatres hehe. it never gets old, never stops being funny. im a trailer park fiend. mr lahey and randy came to my school to do a comedy act thing. lahey was making this audience participant an honorary trailerparkassistant and he made him lay down, poored liquor in his belly button and sipped it up. it was probably iced tea though

  41. Chris Liddiard says:

Hey I also really want to find out the name of the tune at the beginning of the film when Lahey is running around on the beach. Is anyone still active on this comments board who can help? @ ‘Pat
