Mamo #145: sportos, motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies, dickheads

What do John Hughes (RIP), Star Trek’s international box office, Roger Ebert’s despair and the films of 2010 have to do with each other? Nothing, actually, but the Matt’s are overdue for a rambling and shapeless discussion that serves no one and only confirms to all that this podcast of theirs has more navel gazing than the museum of Florida oranges. So here it is.

Matt Price on Nicholas Cage: "There's too much face there, in every direction" 🙂

Knowing is hilariously bad, and I can sort of enjoy it on the same level as The Happening, the secret hand gesture killed me though, one of the unintentionally funniest scenes of this year.

Kurt Halfyard

Yes to both. Knowing is very trashy, talks way down to its audience and makes sure the slowest person in the room has TOTALLY got it before moving to the next thing.

Rusty James

But the Knowing amusement park ride at Six Flags is AWESOME!

most of it is a written questionaire about numerology but then the roller coaster bursts into flames and only the deaf children survive.

Matt Gamble

The comic on the amusement park ride is where it is at though.

This weekend GI Joe does have competition from District 9! With glowing reviews, lots of positive buzz, plus an interesting advertising campaign, even my non-geeky friends are interested in this movie. I think it will do well this weekend and if it's as good as everyone says it is, perhaps more long term legs for this movie as well.
