Pissed that Dorian Gray is playing because it looks pretty cool.

They usually are a few that open almost concurrently with TIFF release in Toronto on the second Friday, I remember Singh is Kinng opened ahead of TIFF recently.

I’m excited that Dorian Gray is in the line up, especially because it doesn’t have any North American release dates yet. Whip It looks like a lot of fun as well, it’s opening theatrically in October though.

Its not that it wouldn’t be ready, its that it was scheduled to open theatrically before TIFF started, which made it seem unlikely to play there. But I just double checked the booking sheets and they say October 2nd, so I somehow got September in my head instead.

Its probably because that was what the Coens told me the release date was, but then they also told me it was THE Serious Man, so clearly they are idiots.

I was just joking with Gamble last night about wandering into the latest Coen Brothers flick at TIFF, and he said (insisted) that there is no way it’d be ready.

Where is the new Mallick film Rot? Wither?

I am thinking for those in the know, the Herzog film will be a hot ticket at the fest. But I can never predict, last year it was Wendy and Lucy, who knew that would attract fervent fans like so many flies over Christie Pitts?
