Am I the only person on the planet that thinks this looks just alright? It's definitely cool. Don't get me wrong. I'm in the theater on day one – no doubt. But…

Does this really look that much better than the 80s original? I think it looks damn near the same. With the leaps and bounds in tech over the past 20 years I thought they might've come up with something a little more earth shattering. Maybe it's not tech that's the problem, but a lack of creative thinking?

Also, the guy in the beginning peeking around the corner looks positively TERRIBLE! The Final Fantasy movie from a few years back looked better.

Again, yeah this is a neat clip; I like it. But the orgasms happening across the geek net yesterday and today are unfounded… IMO.

"Does this really look that much better than the 80s original?"

I rewatched Tron recently when I finally bought it.

Yes. It looks so much better, they just didnt reinvent the wheel with the style, and I'm quite happy for that. If you were looking for something more 'creative' or different then I guess I see why you'd be let down, but at the same time, it is still just a teaser. I'm all for doing some new stuff in the movie, but it makes complete sense why the first taste would be sweet and nostalgic promise of maintaining the spirit.

It looks loads beter to me. I know the faces in the helmets looks odd, but those are real faces in there, not CGI. All the padding from the helmet just gives the faces an oddly thin look.

And from the looks of the teaser I wouldn't be surprised if none of that footage is in the actual film. It seems much more like a stand alone scene designed simply to wet appetites then show off the finished product.

Loads better? Yeah it's glossier and noe the bikes aren't limited to x/y coordinates, but it looks pretty close to me. I'm not necessarily saying this is a bad thing. I'm just saying I don't get the "amazing" response this is getting everywhere. Yeah it looks neat and The Dude is in it… twice. But that's about it.

BTW, I think I posted a bootleg of this exact same trailer months ago. No one said shit back then.

And yes Matt, I agree. I'm just using the word trailer as an easy way out. It's more like just a clip from the film (or not from the film as the case may be).

Everything is much smoother, which simply couldn't be done back in the 80's. Everything then had a blocky pixelated look. And the design of the film does look much better, its cleaner and simply flows better, which is what should occur with design over time. The style is clearly referencing the original film, but showing the obvious upgrades that would come with the increased technology.

Honestly the design of the film reminds me of Gattaca. Its sophisticated and "futuristic", but still with a very obvious old school base that it is drawing from.

Andrew- the bootleg from last year's CC is pretty much the same footage except this time it's pretty much complete and was shown in 3D.

I thought this looked pretty spiffy and certainly made me excited for a sequel.
